Physics Laboratory Manager/Instructor

Position Overview:  Merrimack College seeks a full-time (fiscal year or academic year, to be determined) Physics Laboratory Manager/Instructor.  Instructional responsibilities include teaching introductory laboratories and evaluating student laboratory work in accordance with guidelines established by departmental faculty.  The potential for further instructional responsibility exists depending on candidate qualifications and the evolving needs of the department.  Laboratory management responsibilities include setting up and taking down equipment for large laboratory sections, organizing and managing departmental inventory and instruction areas, and coordinating the purchase of equipment, supplies, and perishables as needed. 

Qualifications:  ABD or Ph.D. in Physics and appropriate teaching and laboratory experience are preferred.  Physical requirements include the ability to safely move, lift, manipulate, setup, and takedown laboratory and demonstration equipment for large laboratory sections or courses on a daily basis.  The physics department is instituting an integrated lecture/lab pedagogy and experience with this type of instruction would be highly valued.
