Major in Education
Upon acceptance into the education program, all students should choose the particular grade level and licensure area in which they ultimately want to teach.
The School of Education & Social Policy offers multiple licensure programs (listed to the right) that have been approved by The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and The Interstate Certification Compact of the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education (students are thus able to receive reciprocal teaching licenses in over 45 states; please refer to the DESE’s website as well as each particular state’s requirements for exact terms of reciprocity).
Please note that it is possible to gain dual licensure through an extended practicum. Contact your education advisor for more details.
