Application & Admission
Qualified students are accepted into the Program after review by the Office of Admissions and the Honors Program Committee.
For Incoming First-Years
Merrimack Honors works closely with the Admission office to actively recruit outstanding high school seniors with at least an adjusted 3.5 GPA (i.e., core subjects only) and a record of achievement and active participation in high school. Qualified students are invited by letter to participate in the Honors Program. The number of invitations varies depending on the applicant pool each year. For Rising Sophomores
Every Spring, the Honors program solicits faculty recommendations of current Merrimack freshmen. To qualify for admission to the program, students must have maintained a minimum grade point average of a 3.7 by the end of their first semester of their freshman year. Upon meeting with the Director, students are matriculated into the program, and are expected to complete the program requirements in the three years. If you have been invited to apply for the Honors Program, please complete and submit the Rising Sophomore Application by February 13th at 4:00 pm in the Honors Suite (Sullivan 101).
For Transfer Students
The Director of the program considers transfer students on a case by case basis. Generally, faculty advisors must see a strong academic background and recommend applicants who are keenly motivated to contribute to the program and complete it within three years.
