Sociology and Criminology Majors Co-Author Journal Article
Senior sociology major Courtney Gray and junior criminology major Michele Beausoleil are the primary and secondary authors of an article that appeared in the Fall 2012 issue of the Undergraduate Journal of Service Learning & Community-Based Research. The article, which is based on work they completed in Dr. McQueeney’s Sociology of the Family course during the Spring 2012 semester, is entitled “Using Community-Based Research to Study Bullying at a Local Non-Profit Organization.” The students also designed a pamphlet on bullying as part of their project. Congratulations to Courtney and Michele!
The Department of Sociology & Criminology inducted 14 students into AKD, the International Sociology Honor Society, this year.
Dr. Charlotte Berkes, Biology, is filmed in the Center for Biotechnology and Biomedical Sciences for her article that was accepted in the Journal of Visualized Experiments. Two Merrimack Alumni, Alisha Wilkinson and Ben Paradis and Nexcelom scientist Leo Chan, co-authors, will also be filmed.
