Kaila Whooley Receives Burgess Hansen Award

Sociology and Spanish double-major Kaila Whooley received the 2013 Yvonne Burgess Hansen Award.
Sociology and Spanish double-major Kaila Whooley received the 2013 Yvonne Burgess Hansen Award at this year’s Honors Convocation.
The Department established the Award in honor of Dr. Burgess Hansen, who retired from Merrimack College in December 2010. Each year, the Award is given to the senior Sociology or Criminology major with the highest overall GPA. The Award carries a monetary prize to the recipient, whose name is inscribed on the plaque that resides in the Department of Sociology & Criminology.
Wrapping up their semester studying at Comillas, in Madrid, are World Language majors Kaila Whooley, Esther Armonado, Ashley Costa and Mariah Farbo.
Prof. Dave Raymond receives the Thomas P. Hogan award for his commitment to education and the arts, as well as for fostering faculty success and collegial governance.
