Learning Beyond the Classroom

Students that blend academic studies with practical work experience have a distinct competitive advantage upon graduation. We highly recommend student participation in the Accounting Coop Program or an internship, as these experiences contribute to well-balanced student growth. These programs stimulate professional curiosity, develop the ability to think critically in the application of academic knowledge, and contribute to the development of the knowledge, skills, and competencies required of professional accountants.

The Accounting Coop Program (click here to read more) is available to accounting students with strong GPAs in the spring semester of their junior year. Students interview in the fall semester and begin their Coop positions in mid-January. In addition to working, students earn credit as part of an internship course and will take two additional intensive electives at the end of the Coop in mid-April. Students are able to graduate on time with hands-on accounting experience.
