The Department of Health Sciences offers an undergraduate major in Health Science. The Health Science major focuses on human biology and prepares students for careers in diverse areas of the health industry. With major requirements that range from an examination of the whole organism in anatomy and physiology, to the cellular level in human biochemistry, our students develop an understanding of how the human body functions in health and disease, consider the methodologies used to obtain this knowledge, and acquire the skills to communicate this information within the scientific community. Required courses in biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, and computer science build a strong foundation in science, math and technology thus developing an understanding of the principles of life science as they relate to the human organism. Experiential learning opportunities exist and are encouraged throughout the program.
