Tuition Protection Insurance

Protect Yourself

Consider tuition protection insurance to supplement and strengthen the school’s refund policy.

Helping you get the most out of your Merrimack College experience is always our top priority. That’s why we’ve partnered with A.W.G Dewar, to offer a semester-based opt-out tuition insurance program to our undergraduate day students.

All undergraduate day students will be automatically enrolled in the program and charged $130 per semester unless a waiver is submitted.

Tuition insurance protects the investment your family has made in your education in case you need to withdraw from all of your courses anytime throughout the semester because of a qualified injury, sickness or mental health issue. This coverage expands the scope of our refund policy by offering an 80% reimbursement for tuition and comprehensive fee.   Students and families who do not want tuition insurance will need to complete a waiver each year to opt out of this coverage.

To opt out, the annual waiver will become available in early July and must be completed no later than September 11, 2023. For students starting in the spring semester, the waiver will become available in early December and must be completed no later than January 31, 2024. By opting out students are choosing not to participate in the tuition insurance program.

Further, students acknowledge that in the event of any changes the College deems necessary, tuition and fees and room and board are set for the year and will not be adjusted or refunded.

Withdrawals

The notice of withdrawal must be in writing; refunds will be granted according to the date of receipt of the notice by the divisional office, not by the date on the letter of withdrawal. Refunds for recipients of Title IV federal assistance will receive refunds according to the Title IV policy published in the Merrimack College catalog.

*Nonattendance does not constitute withdrawal.
