Merrimack College Celebrates Student Achievements

Merrimack recognized its top students, student leaders and student organizations in a pair of campus ceremonies Tuesday night.

The Honors Convocation presided over by President Christopher E. Hopey and Provost Cynthia McGowan, presented 141 Presidential Scholars and Honors Program seniors with certificates and cords that will adorn their graduation robes.

Bryanna Snow, a child, family, and community studies major from Salem delivered the student address, focused on the evolution of learning in human development, with lessons from T.H. White and Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Iqra Iftikhar of Wakefield, a health science major, offered the benediction before a Rogers Center audience full of family and friends of the honorees and members of the Merrimack faculty.

Following Honors Convocation was the L.E.A.D. (Leadership, Excellence, Achievement, Determination) Awards for student leaders and student organizations, including top athletes and teams. The L.E.A.D. Awards honor, among others, an unsung hero, an outstanding academic organization, a student organization of the year, program of the year, outstanding student leaders, art event of the year, performing artist of the year, studio artist of the year, Miss and Mr. Fitness, intramural participant of the year, and intramural cup championship.

Merrimack offers its congratulations to academic and L.E.A.D. award recipients. These students show what it means to be a warrior through exemplary academics and being involved in leadership roles within the Merrimack community.
