The Reverend Joseph L. Farrell, O.S.A.
Rev. Joseph L. Farrell, O.S.A., serves as director of programming and outreach with the Office for Mission and Ministry at Villanova University. In this role, Father Joe facilitates the development of an Augustinian Pilgrimage to Italy, coordinates various speaker series, promotes Augustinian Education and Awareness among faculty, staff and student groups, is a member of the campus-wide Strategic Planning Committee, as well as the Chair of the Mission and Goals & Integrity Standards working group in preparation for the Middle States Accreditation visitation in 2011.
Father Joe also serves as an adjunct faculty member teaching an Introduction to Christian Theology course in the Theology department of Villanova University. Prior to this role, Father Joe served as the director of campus ministry at Merrimack College and prior to that was the school chaplain at Msgr. Bonner High School in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania and Parochial Vicar at St. Augustine Church in Lawrence, Massachusetts. For the Augustinians of the Province of St. Thomas of Villanova, he is a member of the provincial council and also serves as director of the Pre-novitiate students and Regent of Study for the Stephen Bellesini Pre-Novitiate and House of Discernment.
Father Joe holds an M.A. in theology from Washington Theological Union (MD) and an S.T.L. and S.T.D. in theology from Pontifical Gregorian University (Rome, Italy).
