6408D TELEPHONE INSTRUCTIONS

LINE APPEARANCES:

There are three appearances of your telephone extension number usually located on the first three buttons allowing you to receive up to (2) incoming calls at a time.

During an incoming call, one of your line appearances will ring and flash.  If you should receive a second call, one of your idle call appearances will ring once and continue to flash until you retrieve the call.  If you don’t retrieve the call, it will go to your audix.

TRANSFERRING CALLS:
To transfer a call, press transfer, dial the extension number, press transfer again.

HOLD:
To put a call on hold, press hold.  To retrieve the held call, press the flashing line appearance button.

CONFERENCE:
To conference up to 6 people in a conference call:  Call the first number, when you get that person, press conference, when you hear dial tone, dial the next person, press conference.  After all parties are contacted, press conference button twice.  All parties will be connected to the call.

SPEAKER:
Pressing the speaker button will allow hands-free telephone calls.  Press speaker at any time during a call, and then hang up hand set.

CALL PICKUP:
Call pickup allows you to pick up another ringing telephone in your area.
To pick up a ringing phone, press the call pickup button.

SEND CALLS:
If you will be out of your office, it is helpful to press the send calls button before leaving.  Your calls will then go directly to your audix instead of ringing four times at an unattended phone.

DISPLAY SCREEN:

Your display will show all on-campus calls only.  Incoming outside calls will display as MERRIMACK or PAETEC.
