Assistant Professor of Sociology
The Department of Sociology at Merrimack College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin in the Fall 2014 semester. The College offers programs in the liberal arts, science and engineering, business, and education. The teaching load is 3-3 with courses capped at 25 students.
A Ph.D. at the time of appointment, teaching experience, and evidence of scholarly activity are required. Applicants should have a specialization in race/class/gender, globalization, or environmental sociology, and must be willing to teach the department’s required course in Social Inequality. An ability to teach Research Methodology and/or Statistical Analysis is also desirable.
Applicants should submit a cover letter, a CV, a teaching philosophy, a research plan, one sample of scholarly work, and an official graduate transcript. Three letters of reference should be sent under separate cover.
