Assistant Director of Residence Life
Position Overview: The Office of Residence Life seeks enthusiastic and student-centered applicants to serve as the Assistant Director of Residence Life. This is a full time, fiscal year position.
Responsibilities: The Assistant Director is responsible for designing a comprehensive training program for RAs and professional staff. He/she will develop strategies to achieve annual RA selection goals and oversee the RA application and selection processes through chairing the RA Selection/Training committee. The Assistant Director will supervise the graduate fellow for programming serving as the lead on department programming initiatives including the continued growth and development of living learning communities and affinity housing. The Assistant Director will serve as an administrative hearing officer in the student conduct process. He/she will participate in the on-call duty rotation and lead the Residence Life team in emergency responses. The Assistant Director will participate in department-wide initiatives including hall opening/closing and housing selection.
Qualifications: A Master’s degree in higher education administration or related field is required. Candidates should have 3-5 years of full time experience in residence life or a related field. The successful candidate must have a proven capacity to work well with all campus constituencies and demonstrate strong communication and organization skills.
This is a live-on position and a college provided two-bedroom apartment is included. During the academic year, a partial meal plan is also provided.
