Director Kathleen Shine Cain was re-elected to the board of the European Association for the Teaching of Academic Writing at the organization’s June 2013 conference in Budapest, Hungary.

The Northeast Writing Centers Association Conference was held in Smithfield, Rhode Island March 1, 2014.Writing Center tutors Samantha Bruno, Janelle Clarke, Laura Dupre, and Kerri Hoppe gave a  presentation titled “Embracing the Multilingual Writer: The Writing Center’s Role in Changing Campus Culture.” The presentation was exceptionally well received by an audience of peer and professional tutors, faculty, and Writing Center directors from the Northeast.

Senior tutor Samantha Bruno will be attending Boston College in the Fall of 2014 for the MSW in Clinical Practice program with a specialization in Children, Youth, and Families. She will also be pursuing certificates in Policy & Community Organizing and Trauma.

Senior tutor Rob Cannella will be attending New Mexico State University in the fall for the MA in English program with an emphasis on Rhetoric and Professional Communication. He will also be serving as a teaching assistant and tutoring in their Writing Center.

Senior tutor Alison Leonard will be attending Boston University in the Fall of 2014 for the MS in Public Relations program. She will also be serving as a teaching assistant for a first-year communications course.  

Senior tutor Kennedy Ndamba will be attending Husson University in the Fall of 2014 pursuing his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He will also continue his work as a personal trainer and hopes to publish his personal memoir.

Senior tutor Brittany Rochelaeu will be attending Salem State University in the Fall of 2014 for the M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration program.
