Social Work
Students interested in pursuing a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) after graduating from Merrimack College will find that the sociology program provides an excellent academic preparation. A double major in Sociology and Psychology may enhance the student’s prospects and preparation for graduate study in Social Work. Some graduate programs in Social Work expect that the candidate will have some work experience and maturity in addition to an undergraduate degree. Therefore, in some instances, students may find it necessary to gain some work experience in the human service sector before applying for admission to a Graduate Program in Social Work. Check out some of the Graduate Programs represented on the Department of Sociology Web Bulletin Board (see Related Links).
