Dr. Dorney’s interests are aging and health. He and Dr. Hayden presented a paper at the 2008 annual meeting of the American Sociological Association, entitled “Sociology and Criminology Programs: A Match Made in Heaven or a Marriage of Convenience?” Dr. Dorney served as the president of the Merrimack College Chapter of the AAUP during 2011-12 and as the president of the Faculty Senate during 2009-10.
