Zach is joining the Computer Science department at Merrimack College in the Fall of 2012 as an Assistant Professor. Prior to joining Merrimack, Zach was a software engineer for seven years at Sun Microsystems (later acquired by Oracle). His responsibilities there included work on Solaris device drivers and later work on Solaris
security products. Zach has additionally served as an adjunct lecture in the department of Computer Science at both Merrimack College and the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
Zach’s research interests are in the intersection of cryptography and complexity theory. His current project is working on efficient cryptographic mechanisms for enforcing access control on data when the storage provider is untrusted
