Amanda Brian is the Program Assistant in the Department of Health Sciences. As the Program Assistant, Amanda works with existing and prospective Health Science, Sports Medicine and Athletic Training students. She also works closely with faculty and staff in her department and other offices across Merrimack College. Amanda supports the Department’s internship program by managing data on site placements and processing of external contracts. She also assists with student advisement and the pre-registration program.
Amanda is the Social Event Chair of Generation Merr1mack, a program supporting first generation college students with their transition into and through college. This new program was founded in fall 2012, and is housed in the O’Brien Center for Student Success. As the Social Event Chair, Amanda works exclusively with Generation Merr1mack Peer Mentors, first generation college students and the Program Coordinators. She is working to plan and execute a large social event hosted by the Generation Merr1mack organization, to publicize and create awareness for first generation college students as well as Generation Merr1mack.
Prior to joining Merrimack College, Amanda was working at Northeastern University in the Senior Vice President’s office of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs.
Amanda graduated in May 2012 from the University of Massachusetts Lowell with a Bachelor of Science degree. She majored in Community Health and minored in Psychology. Amanda is currently working towards her Masters of Education in Higher Education from Merrimack College and anticipates graduating in May 2015.
