Dennis Fontaine serves as the Clinical Coordinator for the ATEP. In his role he is responsible for overseeing the clinical education plan, placing students in clinical rotations, and evaluating clinical instructors and sites. In addition to his duties as the Clinical Coordinator, Dennis teaches the following courses in the Sports Medicine / Athletic Training curriculum; Acute & Emergency Care, Therapeutic Exercise, Therapeutic Modalities, and Clinical Experience II. Dennis also oversees the CPR / First Aid certification process for Athletic Training and Sports Medicine Majors. He serves as an academic adviser for Athletic Training and Sports Medicine Majors. Dennis is a certified athletic trainer through the BOC and is licensed through the sate of Massachusetts. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and is involved as a member of the District I / ATOM scholarship committee and is an item writer for the BOC exam. Dennis is actively involved in recruiting and promoting the profession of Athletic Training and Sports Medicine. He joined the Merrimack College Sports Medicine staff in August of 1999. Dennis holds a BS in Sports and Fitness Management and Business Administration from the University of New England and a MS in Athletic Training from California University of Pennsylvania.
