Heather Carr enters her second year as an assistant athletic trainer/lecturer at Merrimack College after joining the Health Sciences Department in August 2010. Carr’s duties include being an approved clinical instructor to the athletic training majors on campus and she teaches the following courses in the Sports Medicine / Athletic Training curriculum: Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries lecture and laboratory, and Clinical Experiences III & V. In addition, she also is a member of the athletic department serving as an assistant athletic trainer to the 20 athletic teams on campus. For the past two years, Carr has served as the advisor of the Sports Medicine Club, guiding them in promoting the field of Sports Medicine, helping to send students to conferences/workshops, and being involved in multiple community service events.
Carr received a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine with a concentration in Athletic Training from Merrimack College. She earned a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from Boston College. She is a licensed athletic trainer in Massachusetts and Rhode Island and certified by the BOC. Carr is also a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
