Scholarship Information
Scholarships and awards that are designated for students pursuing a degree in Mathematics:
Dr. Donald A. Kearns Memorial Award
A cash award of $500 given annually to a junior math major who is a person of good character, high integrity, demonstrates leadership qualities, and has a good sense of applied study. This award is named in memory of Dr. Kearns who established the Mathematics Department and the math major in 1959, served as the first chairman of the department, and shared his many talents with this academic community during the 39 years that he taught at the college. Dr. Kearns’ family established this award in his memory after his death in 2006. Applications will be available in March of each year at the Math Department office.
Jeanne and William Eddy Memorial Scholarship
A partial scholarship is awarded to a deserving student. Preference is given to a student majoring in Mathematics.
E. Frederick Fossa Memorial Scholarship
A partial scholarship is awarded to a deserving student. Preference is given to a student majoring in Mathematics who is a resident of Beverly, MA.
Rev. Thomas F. Walsh O.S.A. Friends of Merrimack Scholarship
A partial scholarship is awarded to a student entering his/her junior of senior year. Preference is given to a Mathematics major.
Helen E. Ready Scholarship
A partial scholarship is awarded to a deserving student. Preference is given to a student majoring in Mathematics or Modern Languages.
Paul J. and Christine P. Stralitz Scholarship
A partial scholarship is awarded to a deserving student. First preference is given to a junior or senior majoring in Mathematics or Science with a co-major in Education. Second preference is given to a graduate of either Central Catholic High School, Lawrence, MA or Presentation of Mary Academy, Methuen, MA.
Technical Training Foundation Scholarships
Partial scholarships are awarded to deserving students. Preference is given to students majoring in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics from the Merrimack Valley Area of MA.
Dr. John Royal Warrior Club Scholarship
A partial scholarship is available to a student athlete majoring in Mathematics or Computer Science.

Rev. Thomas Burke O.S.A. Scholarship
A partial scholarship is awarded to a deserving student. Preference is given to a junior or senior majoring in Science or Engineering.
Connelly Foundation Scholarship
A partial scholarship is awarded to a deserving student. Preference is given to a junior or senior majoring in Science or Engineering.
Laurence and Susan Demers Science and Engineering Scholarship
A partial scholarship is awarded to a deserving student. Preference is given to a junior or senior majoring in Science or Engineering.
Francis P. Mahoney, Sr. Scholarship
A partial scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior. Preference is given to a junior or senior majoring in Science or Engineering who is of the catholic faith and from the Merrimack Valley or North Shore areas of MA.
Pasquale Sasso Family Scholarship
A partial scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior. Preference is given to a freshman who is a graduate of Austin Preparatory School, Reading, MA majoring in Engineering or Science.
Very Rev. Mortimer A. Sullivan, O.S.A. Medal
This award is conferred upon the first-ranked senior in Science and Engineering.
