Lessons and Carols

December 4 7:00pm
Our Mother of Good Counsel Chapel
Join us for our new Advent-Christmas tradition, a Festival of Lessons and Carols, a liturgy of Scripture (Lessons) and Song (Carols).  Nine short Bible readings recount the anticipation and birth of Jesus, interspersed with familiar Christmas carols for everyone to sing, and seasonal choral music sung by the Merrimack Schola.  Based on a order drawn up by the Bishop of Truro in Cornwall, England in 1880, Lessons and Carols have become a tradition at many schools and colleges, inspired by the annual service at King’s College, Cambridge, England.
