Directed by Howard Hawks, Not Rated, 92 minutes, 1940

This fast-paced screwball comedy depicts a battle of the sexes against the backdrop of big city political corruption. An ensemble cast delivers speedy dialogue coupled with an equally quick-moving plot about a group of newspaper reporters covering the impending execution of a well-known anarchist. Issues of gender politics emerge as a reporter is caught between pursuing her career alongside her ex-husband and fellow reporter, and a potential marriage to a boorish fiancé.
