Faculty Concert: “The Silence of Eternity”

Music Faculty perform classics … and a few surprises!

In their first performance event together, Hugh Hinton, piano and Laura Moore Pruett, mezzo-soprano, will perform a variety of solo piano and vocal pieces from a wide diversity of historical time periods, geographical locations, and musical styles that are united by their attempt to connect with the sacred world. They include a medieval chant by St. Hildegard of Bingen, sections from a Lutheran cantata by Johann Sebastian Bach, songs by Antonin Dvorak, Gabriel Faure, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Charles Ives, solo piano work by Bach and Hayden …  along with a few surprises! The event, scheduled in the Rogers Center for the Arts at Merrimack College on the evening of 4 March(Mardi Gras!) at 7:00 p.m., is free and open to the public. A reception will follow in the lobby. Please pass the invitation along to other colleagues, friends, or family who might be interested in the performance. I hope to see many of you there!
