Sigma Iota Epsilon Honor Society

April 23, 2014
Business Students are inducted into the Sigma Iota Epsilon Honor Society

Sigma Iota Epsilon, the national honorary and professional management fraternity, has recognized 90 Girard School students for their academic excellence.

The students – sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students – were inducted into the Girard School’s SIE chapter at an April ceremony in the Rogers Center attended by family members and faculty. To be honored, undergraduates must have at least a 3.25 GPA, graduate students a 3.5.

This year’s inductees included 18 seniors, 33 juniors, 29 sophomores and 10 candidates for the Master’s of Science in Management Studies.

Sigma Iota Epsilon’s mission is two-fold: to encourage and recognize scholastic excellence and to promote cooperation between the academic and practical aspects of management.

The Girard chapter promotes community service projects for business students and sponsors events on campus. This year, SIE members sold reusable cups to support an environmentally friendly campus, mentored students at Notre Dame High School in Lawrence, and hosted a panel discussion of Girard alumni talking about their career paths.
