The O’Brien Center for Student Success is here to assist you with all aspects of your college and post-college decision-making.

Who is your Career Advisor?

Your Career Advisor is determined by the major that you are pursuing. Click here.

Samantha Medina meets with all students studying within the School of Liberal Arts and the School of Education.

Laura Guarino meets with all students studying within the School of Science and Engineering and the Girard School of Business.

If you are a double major you may choose to meet with either advisor, or with the advisor who is most closely related with your career choice.

Vanecia Harrison-Sanders meets with all graduate students studying to receive a Masters Degree in Management, Engineering or Education.

Resume Review Hours

Resume Review hours provide an option for students to have their resume reviewed by a trained Career Peer Advisors, who can assist in creating or further developing your resume. Critique are generally 15 minutes in length.

Daily resume review walk in hours are:

  • M 1:00-3:00 pm
  • T 1:00-3:00 pm
  • W 10:00am – 12:00 pm
  • TH 2:00-4:00 pm
  • F 12:00-2:00pm

Career Advising Walk In Hours

Walk in advising sessions are generally 15 minutes in length, and can be used for quick questions, resume reviews, cover letter reviews, interview preparation or to find out more about what the O’Brien Center offers to Undergraduate and Graduate students.

Career Advising walk-in hours are Monday thru Friday, 3:00pm and 4:00pm. The last walk in will be at 3:45pm.

When booking an appointment, give your name, major(s), phone number, year in school, and reason for your appointment.

Appointments are booked in 30 or 45 minute increments depending on the topic of discussion. Appointments are booked 9:00 am and 3:00pm and 4:00pm and 5:00pm.

Alternative Advising

Whether you are studying abroad, or live far away; the O’Brien Center for Student Success is able to work with you to ensure you take advantage of our advising services. Some alternative advising suggestions are; Skype, Google Chat, e-mail and phone. Please e-mail or call your Career Advisor for further information and availability.
