The O’Brien Center provides alumni with a variety of ways to give back to the Merrimack community. We welcome Alumni from all years to volunteer their time and expertise through a number of our programs. Please read the program descriptions below and let us know what interests you by emailing the office.
Ask an Employer:
Direct contact to Merrimack talent in an informal setting. Build your organizational brand on campus while also providing career advice to students.
The O’Brien Center will schedule, arrange, and publicize your visit so you can interview highly qualified students on Merrimack’s campus.
ADVANTAGE online recruiting system:
Our web-based recruiting system, ADVANTAGE, makes it easy for you to post jobs and internships, and review the resumes of talented Warriors.
Company Information Table on Main Street & Lunch and Learn:
Share information about employment opportunities within your company and talk with students in the Campus Center. Give a 20-30 minute presentation about your company, followed by a Q&A session.
Meet face-to-face with our most ambitious and talented students at our many boutique fairs.
Interested in hiring students with a particular major? Lead a classroom discussion on your field and brand your company as an industry expert.
Employer Panel Discussions:
Talk about your organization and industry, while sharing personal insights into your own education and career path.
Internships and Cooperative Education Opportunities:
Internships and cooperative education opportunities (co-ops) allow students to apply classroom knowledge and skills in a real-world setting. There, they gain valuable work experience, hone their talents, and learn more about their chosen field. Highly effective recruiting tools, co-ops and internships allow you to evaluate an individual’s abilities and long-term potential.
Who’s Got Talent:
Serve as a judge or a casual observer from the field at one of our many student capstone project presentations or poster sessions or talent expo’s.
Does your company have a research problem that needs solving? Looking to do a SWOT analysis on an existing or proposed program or initiative? Our faculty are always looking to partner with the business community on real-world, relevant experiential learning opportunities and research. Let Merrimack solve your problems!
Employer in Residence Program:
Volunteer your expertise during mock interview sessions. Serve on our employer resume critique rotation. The opportunities to develop our students professionally is invaluable - students want to hear from you!
Alumni Mentor Program:
Share your knowledge and expertise with a current student interested in your industry, and in you as a Merrimack Alum. Mentor-Mentee matches are one year rotations. Program open to Sophomores and Juniors.
Host a student at your organization for short-term learning opportunities. Choose 3-week; one-week; or one day placements. Engage students on various levels of your organization while utilizing young talent to move your organization forward.
