Sakowich Campus Center
Much more than a building, the Gladys Sakowich Campus Center at Merrimack College is the heart of campus life. It stands as the centerpiece of the school and brings our community together to share, discuss and collaborate.
Hours
During the academic year, the Sakowich Campus Center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Design
- 130,000 square feet
- Glass walls and numerous windows make it easy to see both inside and outside.
- Three lanterns on top of the building bring light in during the day and illuminate the campus at night
- The first floor “Main Street” creates an indoor corridor which connects the outdoor pathways between residence halls and academic areas of campus.
Services
At the center you have access to a variety of comfortable and inviting lounges and various dining areas, including Sparky’s Place, The Warrior’s Den, Augie’s Pub and the Merrimack Club. The center also houses the Anthony Sakowich Recreation Complex which includes an elevated indoor track, basketball courts, dance/aerobics studios and fitness center.
A number of offices and services are in the center including the U.S. Post Office, Commuter Student Lounge, Mission and Ministry, Office of the Dean of Students, Office of Residence Life, Counseling Center and more.
Opportunities Abound
Whether you are a resident or commuter student, a faculty member or staff, you will have the opportunity to gather in the center to exchange ideas, participate together in events or share a meal.
The center complements the academic experience through an extensive variety of cultural, educational, spiritual, social and recreational programs. Home to student government and a number of student clubs and organizations, you will find a stimulating and supportive atmosphere of cultural and diverse happenings here.
For Students By Students
More than fifty students help manage and operate the building; many working as Building Managers at the Information Center desk and in the Anthony Sakowich Recreational Complex.
