Investments

This course introduces portfolio theory and examines risk-return tradeoffs and portfolio diversification. Topics include investment environment, financial systems, institutions, and markets, how securities are traded, security analysis, and equity, fixed income, and derivative valuation.
Corporate finance

This course provides an introduction to the principles of finance management. Topics include risk and return, capital budgeting, financial statement analysis, working capital management, financial forecasting, resource planning and analysis, valuation and net present value concepts.
Portfolio Analysis
FIN 4433
An advanced investments course that assumes proficiency with the principles of portfolio management, market efficiency, and asset pricing. The course covers asset classes, equity, fixed income, derivatives, and financial markets. The method of delivery focuses on case studies and financial modeling practice.

Finance, the study of money management, is the engine that powers all meaningful investments -how businesses raise and invest capital, how individuals invest their assets, and how markets function. In this major, you'll utilize analytic skills to project earnings and conduct valuations, construct and manage portfolios, and assess an organization's assets and liabilities to identify opportunities for global business growth.

Jobs with a Finance Degree
A degree in finance will prepare you for a specialized job in the financial industry such as mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity, commercial and investment bank, and insurance companies, to name a few. Different from a business major, majoring in finance will prepare you to study a specialized area in finance, a financial technology analyst position, for example. In this case, you will have to show you have quite a bit of knowledge in the field of finance in the area of blockchain, fintech, crypto, and digital finance.
