HONOR SOCIETY
Alpha Iota Sigma
Alpha Iota Sigma is a national interdisciplinary honor society with a mission to recognize and advance the academic scholarship and achievements of interdisciplinary students. The members of AIS have diverse educational backgrounds with various major(s) and minor(s) combinations. The society hosts activities, events, forums, and meetings with the involvement of passionate faculty. There is a national annual writing contest students can enter for the chance to receive recognition, prizes, and to have their work published on the institute’s website. In addition, students have the chance to collaborate with faculty. Once a year students take part in an official induction ceremony and upon graduation, each honor society member will receive a graduation cord to wear with their cap and gown. The first cohort of Alpha Iota Sigma at Merrimack College was inducted in Spring 2019!
How To Become A Member
Students can become members by having an interdisciplinary academic background and at least a 3.30 GPA. Student nominations from faculty are encouraged!
