Austin Scholars

Austin Scholars celebrate Merrimack’s Augustinian roots by forming a community on campus and then serving those in need in neighboring communities.

As the oldest of the College’s living-learning communities, the program has grown from 50 students to more than 300.

These students are committed to a holistic formation that is comprehensive and includes scholarship, community and service. They take common classes together in theology and ethics, host speakers on campus and build community, and they perform service throughout the Merrimack Valley.

From tutoring children in local schools to helping families through the Financial Capability Center, Austin Scholars dedicate themselves to assisting others. Even during COVID-19 restrictions, they have found a way to serve like writing notes of thanks to first responders.

100% of the Austin Scholars from the Class of 2021 made a gift to Merrimack in honor of the extraordinary opportunities they’ve been afforded.

The Austin Scholars embrace every aspect of their Merrimack experience. You can support remarkable student opportunities like this with a gift to The Merrimack Fund today.
