The Writers House

The Writers House is dedicated to creative writing, reading, and thinking.

We’re a place where poets, fiction writers, scholars, journalists, graphic novelists and filmmakers can connect with and inspire students, faculty, staff, and the wider community.

Think open mics, poetry slams, staged readings, Pulitzer-Prize-winning authors, emerging writers, a student-run literary journal, internships, pizza, space to hang out and write and read and wrestle with ideas.

    Nov. 5: Tom Sleigh
    Tom Sleigh is a poet, dramatist, and essayist, and a Distinguished Professor in the MFA program at Hunter College. His awards include the Kingsley Tufts Award, a Guggenheim grant, two National Endowments for the Arts, and an Academy Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Recent work can be found in PoetryThreepenny Review, the New Yorker, and elsewhere. Please join us for a reading followed by a Q&A. 4 pm.
