Merrimack (11-20-3, 7-17-0 WHEA) earned a spot in the coveted tourney with a 3-2 come-from-behind victory against the University of Vermont on Saturday, Feb. 18, combined with Boston University’s win over the University of Maine on Sunday, Feb. 19.

The Warriors now advance to the best-of-three conference quarterfinals next weekend against top-seeded and sixth-ranked Boston College. The teams will square off Friday and Saturday at 2 p.m. at Boston College’s Conte Forum, and again on Sunday at 8 p.m. if a third and deciding game is needed.

In Saturday’s win, Merrimack fell behind 2-0 in the first period before scoring three unanswered goals. Sophomores Paige Voight and Dominique Kremer found the back of the net in the final five minutes of the first period, and Madison Morey notched the game-winner at 15:58 of the third. Freshman goalie Léa-Kristine Demers registered a career-high 48 saves.
